Hello! My name is Rachel, and I am a dance/movement therapist and counselor. I specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults who have experienced trauma or difficult life experiences. My approach weaves together creative arts therapy, trauma-informed care, and a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship. In our work, I invite creativity, play, and body-based awareness as essential parts of healing.
I especially enjoy working with people who may not feel at home in traditional talk therapy. Movement, mindfulness, and creative expression can open new ways of understanding yourself, processing emotions, and exploring relationships. These approaches often reach places words alone cannot.
Our bodies carry stories just as much as our minds do. After painful experiences, it’s common to feel cut off from what your body is telling you. Together, we’ll work gently to rebuild that connection—so your body and mind can begin to support one another again, bringing more ease, clarity, and healing.
Dance/movement therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses the body and movement as pathways for expression and change. This might look like:
Using dance or movement to build rhythm, coordination, and creativity
Practicing mindfulness, breathing, or grounding exercises to ease anxiety and stress
Engaging in movement-based games to strengthen relationships and social skills in a supportive space
Every person’s therapy looks different, and we’ll shape the process around your unique goals.
When working with children, I believe in involving the whole family. I often encourage family sessions alongside individual therapy so that parents and caregivers feel supported and included in the process.
My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where you or your child can express fully, explore freely, and move through change at a pace that feels right. Starting therapy can feel daunting, but you won’t be alone—we’ll build the journey together.
